Rodney has written four speculative fiction novels, and an anthology of short stories based on futuristic fairy tales for adults. He has also contributed to several compilations of short stories during his membership of the Northern Beaches Writers Group based in Sydney.
He has written extensively in the Australian media including as contributor to Australia’s travel and boating magazines, and moving on to feature articles on urban design and property in the Australian and Sydney Morning Herald newspapers. He began screenwriting, and producing short films from 2000 onwards.
His first novel, now re-published as “Covert Messages” became a springboard for other speculative fiction novels embracing themes such as artificial intelligence; the search for extraterrestrial intelligence; global pandemic, and the deepening impacts of global warming. His ‘Covert Trilogy’ of novels are based in the near future in a dystopian Australian era covering such themes. His morst recent novel ‘Thylacine’ is based on real science beside speculation on repercussion of the impact of de-extinction plans in Tasmania.
Rodney has attended Mark Dawson’s Self Publishing Formula program and attended a series of seminars by ‘Newsletter Ninja’s author Tammi Lebrecque.
Besides writing, his other passions include playing classical guitar, landscape photography, bushwalking, and travel through historic quarters in various corners of the globe.
